Consumer Alert On The Safety Of Our Vehicles Save Email Print

A | A | A

A consumer alert tonight on the safety of our vehicles. A new crash study reveals the results based on death rates for drivers in all kinds of vehicles.

The study finds cars are still safer than SUV's and pickup trucks because of their lower center of gravity. The car with the highest death rate is the 2 door Chevy Blazer followed by the Acura RSX.

Vehicles with the lowest death rate, the Astro Mini Van and the Infinite G35.

The good news, the overall death rate has gone down 30% in the past 10 years. One reason for the drop was the addition of electronic stability control which helps us steer on slippery roads.

Researchers say the most important thing to remember, the more safety protection you have, the better suited you will be in a real crash.
