National Council of Negro Women Thanksgiving Dinner
Dinner might need to come a bit sooner tonight...

The National Council of Negro Women hosted a Thanksgiving dinner today for senior citizens in the area. It had all the fixings and dessert. Like many of us, participants will be busy next week getting ready to celebrate Turkey Day with their immediate families. So organizers felt today was a perfect time to gather with extended family.
"Thanksgiving is really important. We all have a lot of things going on in our lives, and we want people to know that we are thankful for them being a part of this community and thankful for the things we have and can provide to them," says volunteer Deetra Salas.
The NCNW hosts events yearlong for women of African descent, which includes educational and leadership opportunities.
