We're talking about socks. And while it seems simple, socks to the homeless are a big deal. That's why boxes of them were collected today at the Senior Awareness Resource and event. These cotton pairs will be donated to area organizations such as the Mayor's Homeless Task Force.
"People who are homeless do not have the access to the clothes the rest of us have. They walk a lot, and that means that they go through socks a lot so, this is a very important item for them," says volunteer Lindsey Gregg.
The group also raised funds by throwing a 50's style sock hop in the afternoon.
