Pet Food Recall Update

An update tonight on the contaminated pet food that's killed and sickened dozens of cats and dogs nationwide.

Canadian insider reports the chief financial officer of Menu Foods, Mark Wiens sold about half his shares in the company just three weeks before the massive recall.

Menu Foods started getting reports about sick cats back in February, the food was tainted by Chinese Wheat Gluten.

Company reps say Weins feels awful that this link has been made and is calling it a horrible coincidence.

Is Menu Foods selling nice bridges too? C'mon fellas - we didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday. And Nestle-Purina - took them two weeks after the initial recall to issue a press release recalling their Alpo? And this is a company who's going to purchase Gerber for $5.5 billion? That's encouraging for expectant parents, isn't it? Aside from being greedy and apathetic, it is in my opinion criminal what has been done, and for what was ignored hoping we wouldn't notice. Well, we did. Rather than just Senate hearings, a criminal investigation is in order as well. Deaths were caused and hardships and grief were caused simply by greed. It won't be simply pet owners who will start making their own foods, as these multi-billion dollar companies simply cannot be trusted.
