The Belvidere Oasis on I-90 had power out nearly all day Wednesday, causing some major problems for drivers.
Drivers counting on filling up at the Oasis Wednesday were in for a rude awakening. Lights were out, pumps were off and coffee machines were stilled at one of our area's most frequented rest stops.
State police worked with ComEd to get the rest stop back in working order as soon as possible.
The entire chunk of Belvidere surrounding the Oasis and the tollway in that area were without power. Until ComEd could get things back online, drivers were left hoping they they had enough in the tank to make it to the next gas station.
"I think ill make it to the next station but im pretty close to getting low and being that im going to Huntley, it's a little far away," says David Krebs.
Sandra Rodriguez was dissapointed too. She says, "We were gonna stop for gas in Rockford but we came out here because it was cheaper."
ComEd representatives expected to have to fuses replaced and power back on by late Wednesday night.
