With more sidewalks, children and families might take more walks and bike rides together and have healthier lifestyles. I feel terrible for those 2 boys. They were just out having fun.

Rockford is horrible for pedestrians and bike riders. All homes should have sidewalks in front of them and they should be kept clear of snow in winter weather. Some homes that have sidewalks are so poorly maintained that they are unsafe to walk on. How many people have seen school aged children and adults walking in the street because of rough sidewalks or snow? The members of the city council should worry more about the appearance of the city and the safety of its citizens and less about how many jobs they can cut. Rockford residents have long had a problem with having pride in this city and it starts with the people we elect to govern us. We don't elect leaders, we elect followers.
