Police say the driver of a Cadillac lost control at State Street and Shaw Street and ran over several signs, trees and a bench before crashing into Bethesda Covenant Church. When police showed up, the driver abandoned his car, hopped into the car he was racing against and sped off. Authorities aren't releasing the suspect's name or if they think the Cadillac is stolen.
