Three Days Before Tax Day, Thousands Still Must file in Wisconsin

With the April 15 tax deadline fast approaching, state officials want procrastinators to file returns electronically rather than on paper.

Revenue Secretary Michael Morgan says 57 percent of the 2.3 million returns filed so far this year were done electronically.

The state gets about 2.9 million tax filings a year.

Morgan says it costs the state 75 cents less to process an online return than a paper return.
