Legislators are meeting with doctors, trial lawyers and insurers to try to stem what health care officials say is a growing crisis in Illinois. They say doctors are leaving in droves around the state's borders because of soaring insurance premiums and services, and patients are suffering.

Lawmakers say they will address the issue before the legislative session ends this spring, but many say the ultimate solution likely will not make anyone completely happy because of the powerful interests involved who want have vastly different answers to cure the problem.
