It's a shrinking stock of money for this year's livestock expo.
The International Livestock Expo held annually at the Illinois State Fairgrounds will be a bit smaller this spring. Expo organizers say this is the first time in the event's 100-year history that they didn't get any money from the state.
State funding of the event has been criticized in the past. Last year, Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan got $300,000 for the show, even though Gov. Blagojevich labeled it a "misplaced priority."
