Illinois residents have a chance to put a personal touch on this year's State Fair. Fair officials are asking residents to suggest themes for this year's event. The theme will be incorporated into floats during the Twilight Parade, which officially starts the fair.
Agriculture Department spokesman Jeff Squibb says the theme will also be worked into advertisements, logos, letterhead and fairground decorations.
A committee will review all of the entries, which are due by April 30. The winning idea will be chosen based on state pride and creativity.
The winner will receive free admission and parking at the fair along with two tickets to a grandstand concert of their choice.
Entries can be submitted online at www.IllinoisStateFair.info or can be mailed to the fair's special events office.
