Illinois' sex-offender registry website can now be read in Spanish.
The Illinois State Police have updated the site to offer the Spanish option. The site also now includes distinguishing red labels for offenders who are considered the most dangerous and links to similar sites in other states.
The changes were recommended by the Illinois Sex Offender Registry Team, which was formed last year to look at ways to improve the registry.
The site was created in 1986 to keep residents informed about sex offenders living in their communities. It's online at www.isp.state.il.us/sor
