Rockford Man Dies After Serious Car Crash
A victim involved in a serious car crash on Rockford's east-side yesterday has died.

The Winnebago County Coroner says 78-year-old James Hoyt of Rockford died just before midnight. This was from injuries he suffered in a traffic accident on Alpine Road just north of Spring Creek around noon on Thursday, October 15Th. Police say the elderly man was riding in a transportation van, when an out-of-control vehicle hit the van. The van's driver and a passenger in the car suffered non-life threatening injuries.
