Loves Park Grocery Grab Challenge
The bread is in aisle three, cereal is in aisle eight, the premium steaks are in the back of the store, and your frozen vegetables are in aisle 13. But, could you grab all of that in *two minutes?

Loves Park Street Manager, Shannon Messenger was put up to that exact challenge, participating in a stateline style "Super Market Sweeps." Except this one was the Loves Park Lions Club "Grocery Grab". It kicked-off at the Valli Produce in Loves Park this morning.
However, Messenger laced his shoes up for Gloria Brinker. She was the actual winner of the "Grocery Grab," but wasn't quite up for the challenge. So he filled-in while Mrs. Brinker cheered on the sidelines. This was the second annual Grocery Grab fundraiser, and everyone involved says it was a success.
Loves Park Mayor Darryl Lindberg said, "All in all it was a really nice event, and it's amazing how fast they can clean the shelves when they're under a two minute time constraint. But it was very, very worth wild day today. So we're very happy."
Mr. Messenger collected over a thousand dollars worth of steaks for Mrs.Brinker, who is the wife of Loves Park Alderman Richard Brinker. But, to thank him for breaking a sweat for her, Mrs. Brinker is hosting a steak cook-out, down at the Loves Park Street Department for the entire staff.
The Loves Park Lions Club began selling tickets for their Grocery Grab back in September. The club sold 200 tickets for their fundraiser. Ticket holders were also entered to win $100 Visa Gift Card donated by US Bank as a second prize.
