A new state audit shows Illinois State University officials didn't keep adequate records for some of its assets.

The Illinois Auditor General's Office found faulty records for items ranging from computers to cattle-handling equipment. According to the audit, ISU misreported more than $289,000 worth of property.

ISU spokesman Jay Groves says none of the findings represents any misspending or misuse of state funds.
