A Chicago man's bond is set at nearly $1 million after he allegedly carjacked a Belvidere woman yesterday afternoon.
Oscar Montoya is charged with aggravated battery and aggravated vehicular hijacking after he allegedly stole a car in Boone county, ran out of gas, and kidnapped the woman pulling over to help him. The woman was able to escape but Montoya chased after her with a gun and wrestled with a nearby tollway maintenance worker who eventually grabbed the weapon. Illinois State Police found Montoya one hour later after fleeing into a cornfield.
