Last week, Chief Tom Fearn presented his letter of resignation to the council at a special meeting. He cited personal reasons for leaving.
And in a 5-0 vote tonight, city leaders appoint Sergeant Adam Truman as interim police chief. Sgt. Truman has been with the department for eight years.
As far as finding a permanent police chief, Mayor Randy Kirichkow says, in two weeks they'll discuss how they plan to advertise for that position.
Fearn's last day as police chief will be October 10th, a position he's held since July of last year.
