A Winnebago County Sheriff's Deputy has resigned and is behind bars Tuesday night, charged with the felony of official misconduct.

The arrest comes after a year and half long investigation. The department received information from a number of sources that patrol officer Susan Dalke Rogers had given out information about a police investigation to potential suspects.

Shortly after being charged, Rogers resigned as a patrol officer and now faces jail time. During an arraignment hearing Tuesday, Rogers waived the reading of her rights, charges and possible penalties.

Her attorneys also made a motion to reduce her bond which is currently set at $100,000. That bond hearing is set for July 19.
