Alcohol and drifting snow may have played a role in a deadly crash early Monday morning south of Roscoe.

Winnebago County sheriff’s deputies say the driver of a pick-up truck heading west on Swanson Road lost control of his vehicle on the ice and snow hit a Jeep heading east.

The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Anthony Medical Center.

The pick-up truck driver is charged with driving under the influence.
