Gold Star Mother from Mt. Morris Recognized
The mother of a stateline soldier who died while serving the US army in Afghanistan is honored today for her sacrifice.

Lisa Otto of Mt. Morris lost her son specialist Norman Cain last March. He was killed by a roadside bomb.
"To all of those service members who have volunteered to serve our country, and went into the face of danger in iraq and afghanistan and gave their lives for our democracy," Said Governor Pat Quinn.
Gold Star Mother's Day has been recognized the last Sunday of September since 1936.

Lisa Otto is not from Mt morris she is from freeport ILL.
