It's looking like an uphill fight for Republican U.S. Senate challenger Jim Durkin.
The state representative from Westchester has filed a federal campaign report claiming $111,000 on hand at the end of June. That compares to $4.7 million that incumbent Democrat Dick Durbin had to carry him toward the November election.
Durkin's report with the Federal Election Commission shows he took in $192,000 and spent $87,000 from April through June.
But Durkin has shown he can win on a low budget before. He defeated two millionaires in the March Republican primary after spending just $300,000. He had less than $10,000 left in his campaign fund after the primary.
