Forty-six-year-old Debra Torres's child is a Rockford public school student. Torres says she knew her 13-year-old was skipping class.

Torres was sentenced to 12 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine. She'll also have to ensure her child will be at school every day.

Torres will also have to provide a doctor's excuse if her child misses any more days of class.
