As the public eye continues to turn to child abductions across the country, the Dekalb County Sheriff's Police are looking to prevent a tragedy from happening closer to home.
In an effort to help parents keep record of their kids, in case of a child abduction or kidnapping, the department will hand out inkless fingerprinting kits to parents this weekend.
The kit fits in a small envelope with an area to attach recent photos, fingerprints, and body scar information.
If you'd like to pick up a fingerprint kit, you can this weekend. Kits will be passed out by Dekalb County D.A.R.E. officers in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Dekalb right on Rt. 23.
Kits will also be available at the Sandwich Fair.
