If you think joining a fraternity is all about parties, think again. About 70 undergraduate members of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity are shattering all the stereotypes.
The bicycle group rode through Rockford Sunday to help raise money for people with disabilities.
The cross-country cycling trip called The Journey of Hope began on June 2 and will continue until August when the team heads to Washington D.C. Averaging 70 miles per day, the student cyclists will visit 117 communities to spread their message of hope.
Now in its 15th year, The Journey of Hope is expected to raise well over $350,000 through fund-raising and corporate sponsorships.
The money will help fund the projects and programs of Push America, an organization that provides service and education to promote a greater understanding of people with disabilities.
