A state line man has been upgraded to fair condition after a two-car accident Saturday afternoon.
Police said 22-year-old Eric Reith was heading east on 72 just after 3 p.m. He stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Routes 72 and 251, but then started to go through it without seeing that another car was coming from the south on 251. The two then collided.
Reith's passenger, 26-year-old Phillip Gore was airlifted to Rockford Memorial where he's now in stable condition. Reith and the driver of the other car, 38-year-old Jesus Diaz was treated and released.
Reith was ticketed for failure to yield.
