Gov. Rod Blagojevich has announced more than $900,000 in grants for trail projects in six communities, including a Stephenson County project.

The governor says the money is meant to expand safe access to family-oriented recreation. The cash comes from the federal government's Recreational Trails Program. Local sponsors supply a 20 percent match.

One grant will go towards resurfacing of the Jane Addams Trail in Stephenson County.
