Police say 56-year-old Anthony Kundert, of Beloit, was found dead Friday afternoon in a room at Ike's Motel.
Kundert had been occupying the room since the early morning hours.
Beloit police Captain Bill Tyler says a preliminary autopsy results reveal that Kundert was beat to death.
No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
