The first federal security screeners at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport started work Monday night.

The 30 to 50 screeners are the first of 200 who will ultimately man the International terminal.

Officials say about the only change passengers will notice will be while they wait in line. A single serpentine line will replace multiple lines. Officials say the line will move quicker than the multiple lines and allow screeners to better watch travelers.

After the Sept. 11 attacks the Aviation and Transportation Security Act mandated that federal employees take over the screening process at the nation's commercial airports by Nov. 19.
