A Rockford man is hospitalized after being shot in the face Saturday night. It all started when police say 28-year-old Jonas Cruz went with a friend to south main liquor store.
He went inside and after coming back out, Cruz got in the back seat of the car. Someone then walked up to the car and fired four shots, hitting Cruz once in the face. Cruz was taken to the hospital in serious condition but his current condition is not being released.
Police are still looking for the shooter who's described as a black male, around 25 years old, about 5'7” and 190 pounds with braids in his hair. The man was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans at the time.
