4th of July Festivities Take Place Across the Stateline

STATELINE (WIFR) – To celebrate the 4th of July, there have been plenty of festivities some kicking off bright and early.

This morning, Rockford’s 4th of July Committee held its annual Patriotic Prayer Breakfast in Sinnissippi Park. Local musicians performed and the Rockford Police Color Guard presented the flags and to top it all off, the first thousand Stateliners to stop by got a free breakfast.

In Winnebago, the family fun festival continued into its second day with a parade. Local politicians, police officers and firemen passed out lots of candy. The family festival continues until 10:00 tonight and fireworks will begin at dusk.

The Village of Cherry Valley also held their annual parade early this afternoon. Every year, prizes are given to the most festive riders and tonight their firework show will be in Baumann Park at dusk.
