Train Derails Near Mulford & Sandy Hollow in Rockford
A train derailed near Mulford & Sandy Hollow in Rockford Friday night, prompting nearby evacuations and sending people to the hospital with burn injuries.

A train filled with ethanol derailed near Mulford & Sandy Hollow in Rockford around Friday night at 8:30 p.m.
The train did catch fire and there are burn victims. Three were taken to St. Anthony Medical Center. Two are in critical condition. One of them is being shipped out and is in serious condition.
Ethanol was aboard 74 cars in the 114-car freight train; 12 of those caught fire in the derailment.

my mother was right in front of that line and thankfully okay. My prayers go out to those that were hurt.

We were on Hwy 20 going to Pecatonica last night around 9:30 and you could see the sky was red to the east from the fire.
