More Local Homeowners Choosing to Invest in Their Homes
But for homeowners who are staying out of the market...and staying in their homes, many are decided to remodel.

Frank Gambino of Gambino Homes says he has a handful of remodeling jobs going on in the Rockford area right now. This Loves Park homeowner decided to stay put and add on to his home due to uncertainty in the market.
Gambino says business is busy these days as homeowners are investing in all types of projects like adding square footage and updating their kitchens and baths.
Gambino dove into the remodeling business a few years ago and is glad he did especially these days.
"With the downturn in the economy and the uncertainty alot of people have decided instead of buying a new home going in and buying another home selling their home and just improve upon it."
Gambino says the prices for remodels range from a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands. He says the amount hasn't changed to much due to the economic conditions.
