The future of green technology is booming in Rochelle, thanks to the grand opening of a new business.
City leaders opened the doors to the Allstate Green Data Center this morning. The Eco-friendly center is the first tenant of Rochelle's new 160-acre Business and Technology Park. The purpose of the facility is to provide Allstate Insurance holders with top notch customer service when processing claims. This will all be done by utilizing green technology. Business leaders say the center is good for business and the environment.
"Everything from how we've designed the power, to where the equipment goes, to the type of equipment that goes in. It's designed to drive down our energy cost and to make sure we run our facility as efficiently and as reliable as possible," said Brandi Landreth Director of the Allstate Data Center.
The green data center was first designed back in 2007 and its one of just two in the nation.
