"It's the people that make this country so great, government is what makes it so bad." says 48 year old Rockford native Kurt Kallenbach.

He believes our leaders in Washington have corrupted the original meaning of the U.S. Constitution and infringed upon our individual rights. So he has decided to do something about it, one step at a time. On Saturday morning, he embarks on an 830 mile walk from Rockford to the White House.

"I just want to let people know it's ok to say something, to stand up and be Americans again. Don't be ashamed of it." says Kallenbach.

Along the way Kallenbach plans to visit with people he's never met to share his concerns and hear about the worries of others. His self-proclaimed "One man march against tyranny" should finish in Washington just before July 4th.

"We're going to be showing up for the July 4th tea party in Washington D.C. There's going to be a lot of people there waiting for us." he says.

Kurt's wife Debbie is in charge of the logistics of the trip. She's accompanying him by car. Once in the capital Kallenbach doesn't plan on meeting with any politicians. He says this is a philosophical walk, not a political march.
