Five Stateline Drug Enforcement Agencies have a lot to be proud of. They stopped out-of-state drug dealers from smuggling a large amount of marijuana into the Stateline.

These Rockford DEA agents are wheeling out drugs brought in from out-of-state. Nearly 5-hundred pounds of marijuana believed to be from Washington state are now in police hands the raid comes after several days of watching 30-year-old Adan Cano Lopez of Beloit, and five others from the west coast.

DEA agents were watching the six men from this McDonald's parking lot. They waited for the exchange and then moved in.

The drugs were found hidden in the backseat of a 2000 GMC Sierra with an Iowa license plate. That car along with a 1997 Ford Explorer and a 1998 Jaguar XJ84 were seized by police. The marijuana is now being moved to Chicago for further investigation.

All six men were arrested on illegal drug charges. They're being held in the Winnebago County jail on 3-hundred thousand dollars bail.

DEA agents say even though the men were caught with a large amount of drugs. It's not enough for them to be prosecuted in a federal court.
