Right now a Rockford family is picking up the pieces after someone slammed a car into their house. It started out on the 800-block of Cedar St. at around 12:40 a.m.
That's where the driver ran a stop sign, attracting the attention of a police officer. But when the squad car's lights came on, the driver didn't pull over. Instead, he attempted to lose the squad car, speeding his way to Montague St.
The driver finally gave up, but not soon enough. Unable to stop, the driver lost control of the car, ran off the road, over the curb and into this house. After the crash, five people were seen exiting the vehicle.
Police did apprehend one 15-year-old attempting to flee on foot. Investigators say they are still searching for the other passengers in the vehicle. If you have any information as to the whereabouts of the other passengers, you are urged to call Rockford police.
