DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – A traffic shift is scheduled this week on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) Reconstruct & Widen Project underway from Newburg Road to Rockton Road.

All work in the 16-mile section of this corridor is scheduled for completion by the end of this year as part of the Illinois Tollway’s $6.3 billion Congestion-Relief Program – Open Roads for a Faster Future.

Westbound traffic between the Cherry Valley Interchange (I-90/I-39) and the South Beloit Toll Plaza is scheduled to shift onto the eastbound side of the road in order to maintain two lanes of traffic in each direction throughout the remainder of the construction project.

Traffic Shift Scheduled Wednesday Night
Overnight lane closures are scheduled on Wednesday, April 29, for a stage change that will shift all westbound traffic onto the eastbound side of the road between the Cherry Valley Interchange at I-90/I-39 and the South Beloit Toll Plaza.

If lane closures are postponed due to inclement weather, a backup date for the traffic shift is scheduled overnight on Thursday, April 30.
Two lanes of traffic will remain available in both directions during daytime hours with lane closures permitted only during off-peak hours. All entrance and exit ramps will be maintained at IL Route 173, East Riverside Blvd., and at State Street/Bus. U.S. 20.

In addition, westbound traffic between the Kishwaukee River and the I-90/I-39 Interchange will be shifted to the eastbound side of the road in late May for the project to rebuild and reconfigure the interchange. Traffic will remain in this configuration through late
fall.
