Authorities said the investigation centered on the Bradford Court apartment complex, where an open-air drug market had allegedly been flourishing for some time.
After the investigation began, Addison police and the DuPage County Sheriff's Department requested the aid of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives because of the amount of gun violence in the area.
The Illinois Secretary of State's office was also involved in the investigation.
Authorities began serving arrest warrants yesterday morning and continued their sweep of the area until late in the night.
