Today local students learn about conserving our natural resources in honor of Earth Day.
Fifth grade students from Prairie Hill Elementary School in South Beloit, along with Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful, dedicated two trees at the newly completed Willowbrook Middle School in Roscoe.
The 12' maple trees, donated by Ack Ack Nursery, were planted in front of the school.
Students also read poems written in honor of Earth Day.
Local environmental leaders say today's dedication is a great way to educate future generations on the importance of being good stewards of our environment.
