Wednesday, an 11-year-old girl on her bus was shot in the eye with a B-B gun. Rockford school district spokesman Jim Jennings says the driver did exactly what she was supposed to do, maintained control of the situation and called police immediately.

The girl's injuries were not serious. The two young boys believed to be responsible for the shooting are in police custody. They've been charged with reckless conduct and criminal damage to state supported property.
