Parents met with teachers and school board members at the school Thursday to voice their concerns.
Parents are upset about an alleged comment a teacher made degrading students, saying students should learn to read because that's all they'll be able to do in jail. Parents say they don't want their children learning in that kind of atmosphere.
The school does not currently have a parent teacher association, but that's something that may be established in the near future.
