The university already forbids sharing copyrighted music and other material on its computer networks, but Loyola vice president the Reverend Richard Salmi says the school is increasing its efforts to stop the acts after two of its students were targeted by the music industry earlier this summer.

During orientation sessions for students arriving for fall classes, Loyola students will have to agree not to distribute copyrighted material online before they can log onto the university's computer network.

The Recording Industry Association of America has said it plans to file hundreds of lawsuits against people offering copyrighted music illegally online.
