Emotions run high at the Winnebago school board meeting tonight, over the proposed firing of eight teachers.
Dozens of parents gathered in the cafeteria of McNair Elementary to voice their concerns over the proposed firing of eight teachers in the district, seven from the high school and one from the Seward kindergarten.
There was no explanation for why the teachers would be losing their jobs, but 23 News has learned that all were expected to be replaced.
The turnout was so big that the board decided to delay taking a vote on whether to allow the dismissals to go through.
It is now unclear when such a vote will take place.
