Almost 11,500 customers were without power Sunday night after thunderstorms downed trees and caused some flooding.
Although crews worked throughout the night, ComEd says more than 2,000 customers were without power as of 5 a.m.
The majority of the outages were in the northwestern part of the state near Rockford and DeKalb where nearly 1,200 customers are in the dark.
ComEd says many of the other outages are scattered throughout the southern suburbs. Fewer than 50 customers were without power in Chicago.
