The Rockford Housing Authority announces it's cutting 18 positions.
The layoffs will include office workers, tradesmen, managers and maintenance workers. Ten people have been laid off so far and another eight positions will remain unfilled.
RHA director Lewis Jordan says the cuts are needed because the authority has lost seven percent of its state funding. The layoffs will save RHA about $1 million.
