The State Street Bridge and Rock River were blocked off as numerous emergency crews search for a body.

Six various rescue teams were out on the Rock River Sunday afternoon. This countywide effort was to find the body of what police believe to be a 42-year-old female.

Crews dragged the riverbed about four times before finally locating the body. Those involved from the Rockford Fire Department say the Rock River is a large body of water and river searches can be very dangerous.

Rockford Police continue to investigate; so far they do not suspect any foul play.
