Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois will donate a total of $10,000 to two Rockford-area charities to help the community rebuild and recover from the devastation recently caused by severe flooding.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois Vice President Mick McCarty will present checks for $5,000 to the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army on Wednesday, September 20, at 3:45 p.m., at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois office located at 2787 McFarland Road in Rockford.
Mayor Lawrence J. Morrissey is expected to be among the special guests attending the ceremony.
Blue Cross has more than 450 employees in Rockford.
