An Illinois State Trooper accused of causing last summer's fatal car crash in Winnebago won't be charged after all.
The Winnebago County State's Attorney's office decided Trooper Mark Molitor was following procedure when he smacked into an SUV driven by Darla Greenberg at the intersection of U.S. 20 and Winnebago Road. The accident killed her passenger and mother Carole Tierney. State's Attorney Joe Bruscato says Molitor was on his way to make a traffic stop, but did not need to have his lights and sirens activated at the time. The Tierney family is expected to file lawsuit. Our calls to their attorney to find out against who, have not been returned.
