Police in Rockford have made an arrest in a shooting last night that left a 24-year-old man dead.

Authorities say 29-year-old Thomas Ronnell Green of Rockford is charged with first-degree murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond Thursday.

Deputy Chief Dominic Iasparro says a man named Desmond Gray was killed Wednesday night during an argument in a parking lot. But Iasparro says police aren't sure what led up to the confrontation.
