The arena is shut down for at least the next two weeks. The storms knocked out the arena's power for three days, causing all the ice to melt.
Rockford Park district officials say it will take about two weeks to drain what's left of the ice, re-paint lines, and re-freeze the surface.
Officials estimate the project will cost them about $8,000. Until the rink re-opens, all programs have been moved to the Carlson Ice Arena.
